In this "ode to fire" collection I have included a few water elements, because for my birthday every year this firey Leo tries to balance with spending it in water. Two years ago I did so by camping in Florida, dipping in its fresh water springs and... fossil hunting on it's beaches. I collected quite a lovely array of fossilized sharks teeth on the trip, and I've decided to make an offering of two of them into this collection. It's a release from the ashes afterall.
 
The first tooth makes it's appearance in this ring. A sharks tooth, black like charred wood, but with little fleks of red, the burning embers, set in a serrated bezel, and wrapped in sterling silver rope chain. A trinity of handmade ball details on the edges of the tooth.  A stylized textured band, gives wave like movement to the piece. A perfectly balanced piece.  Given a patina to give it an antiqued, high contrast look, my maker's mark on the inside of the band.
