I still have a small stack of calendars left, and have had interest/people purchasing them offline this last week, so I am putting them back online through 1/11/26 - for anyone who missed out and would still like to order a calendar... on 1/12/26 I will make my second round donation to CGR and gift them any remaining calendars!! Have you been feeling overwhelmed by the state of the world? Yeah, me too. After my last day of water monitoring out at the preserve, the day before the government shut down, I was having some intense conversations about all of the layers of both grief and gratitude I feel for the years I have spent being able to steward in the Barataria Preserve, and what sort of pivoting may need to come to keep showing up for the places (and things and people) that need support.
The very next day when I sat down at my jewelry bench, this idea came to me. A way to funnel all of these helpless feelings into something creative and positive and immediate. A photo calendar of images I have taken over the last three years at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Barataria Preserve .
100% of the profits will be going to Common Ground Relief and their efforts of coastal/wetland restoration, as well as community care. ((Total of money raised//donations will be calculated after my final market/calendar event on the 19th))✨
About the calendar:

About Common Ground Relief
Common Ground Relief (CG) was founded on September 5, 2005 by Malik Rahim, Sharon Johnson, and Scott Crow in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Calling themselves "Common Ground Collective", the group began working in Rahim and Johnson's neighborhood on the West Bank of New Orleans, while the city remained without power or basic services.
Since its founding in 2005, Common Ground Relief has remained committed to working for environmental and disaster justice.
For over two decades since its inception, Common Ground Relief has continued to work in community and environmental resilience. Each year, Common Ground Relief engages with hundreds of volunteers and students. and works with the State of Louisiana to plant thousands of plugs of marsh grasses and native hardwood trees, restoring over 23 miles of shoreline and 17 acres of forest in 2021 alone. Since its founding in 2005, CGR has worked with thousands of volunteers in communitv care work and environmental rehabilitation. We believe that hands-on experiences with environmental restoration builds connection with the land to empower life-long stewardship.
