This listing is for a seriously special ONE OF A KIND pendant necklace.
 
This necklace is an ode to my favorite swamp flora and fauna, alligator and spider lily. 
 
A large teardrop shaped pendant of my beloved myserty murky swamp stone, my best guess has always been a dark green pigmented piece of Serpentine? but I can't be sure - but I accquired it from an old rock hounds collection at an antique store in central California, and I fell head over heels with it and brought home every piece of this mystery stone - only coming out to play whenever I make a piece I secretly imagine making fror myself. A silhouette of an alligator sawed out of the back of the pendant to allow a back view of the stone as well, and just a secret for the wearer.
 
Bordering the stone are two individually hand cast fine silver alligator talons. The bottom of the stone edged with sterling silver ball and raised stamped adornments. On the top of the piece rests a spider lily, my favorite swamp flower. The flower has been meticulously hand fabricated out of sterling silver sheet and wire, hand drawn, sawed, filed, textured, engraved, and formed, out of multiple layers of silver, then soldered together, to bring it to life. A lot of time for a single flower, but worth every effort. All of these elements given a high contrast black background, as if the plants are illuminated in a night swamp scene. The handmade bail is made of thick fine silver alligator ridge texture, and holds in it an adjustable sterling silver double roped chain. It has jump rings at both 18 and 20".
